Safety Meetings

Covid-19 procedures for the club.

Read the procedures here. This is a work in progress and will be modified as we get more experience with it. Also please watch this video on cleaning the plane which was prepared by the CAP.

Currency during Covid-19

Per the FAA SFAR the following apply:

1. If 1st ,2nd or 3rd class medical expires between March 31- May 31 it is extended to June 30th.
2. Flight review expired during the period. This is more complicated. Use links below to see if you are extended. Most pilots who expired during period will not get an extension. This also deals with IFR currency. If expired and no extension will need to have a BFR done.

3. FMFA currency requirements have not been waived. If you are out of currency for 60, 90 day, night or annual currency you will need to get current with an instructor or request a waiver. Waivers may be made on a case by case basis after reviewing past currency and flight hours. Waivers should be sent to FMFA Front Desk & Frank Turney for consideration.
4. Not all instructors will be active. We hope to have a list of active instructors soon.

Safety Meetings

The Fort Meade Flight Activity, Inc holds quarterly Safety Meetings which are MANDATORY for all members to attend. These meetings are usually held on the first Wednesday in the months of March, June, September, December. The meetings begin at 7:00pm and last for approximately one hour, there is a one hour social event just prior to each meeting. The purpose of these meetings is to ensure that all FMFA pilots are up to date on all of the current activity and airport related safety issues.
Notice: Sometiemes typos may occure. If you see May instead of Mar assume it is the March safety meeting. Additionally if you are looking for a particular meeting and do not see it posted below check the FMFA Safety Meeting Youtuble Channel and also look for an email from Frank Turney. Safety Meetings may be posted in either location dependent upon volunteer availability.
